Here's a photo sampling of the crazy and ever-growing event that is the MOPED ARMY BBQ. Now in it's tenth manifestation, more than 120 riders from coast to coast converged upon Kalamazoo for this amazing event, culminating in the massive (and amazingly "death-free") NO RULES RACE on Memorial Day. Seeing huge pods of mopeds roaring through the neighborhood and streets of our fair city makes my heart swell with pride (and envy, 'cuz now I want a moped!). I was invited to the event to spread the word and show new artwork and pages from the ever looming MOPED ARMY graphic novel, and to sell MOPED ARMY 2277 patches to the teeming masses of mopedders!

Proving the infinite humor of the MOPED ARMY, they even let Jane Irwin and me take a bike out for a spin, proving that even comic artists can ride a moped (although whether they SHOULD is another matter altogether...
