And...CUT.
That's a wrap, at least for the free preview pages of BPM. The third and final act of BPM awaits you in the book itself, which will be available to order in the upcoming OCTOBER edition of PREVIEWS, which your local comic store owner can help you place an order for BPM (Diamond order code OCT084169). The book will be hitting stores in late November (hopefully just before Thanksgiving, my birthday!) Ordering through your local comic shop helps me out most at this point, so if you like what you've seen so far, tell your friends and get your local shop to get you some BPM!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The new PREVIEWS for OCTOBER 2008 (books shipping in DECEMBER) is out today. "BPM" is listed under FIERY STUDIOS (page 296), NOT CAFE DIGITAL STUDIOS. I am trying to get this sorted out, but please alert your local stores to look for the book under FIERY STUDIOS rather than CAFE DIGITAL STUDIOS. The Diamond order code is still correct (OCT084169), and despite the December shipping stated, BPM will still be shipped in November until further notice.
Next stops for me is my author talk at the Kalamazoo Public Library on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 LINK and the weekend after that, SPX
Thanks for all the nice comments, and please feel free to keep telling me what you think of the story!

Hi, i've just finished reading the whole story.
And, well, it's really amazing!
I'm absolutely not into thr DJ-ing scene so i guess it's not a fan boy thing. The story itself works really nice, keeps the reader interested and curious. Characters are well built and defined.
The drawing is weirdly inconsistent: sometimes it really rocks, sometimes it sucks abysmally. Sometimes you even get both styles in the same page, it almost looks like it's been drawn by two different people. The background work and coloring are always spot on, the problem is with character design: sometimes it is simply too anatomically incorrect. I know this isn't a Drawing Class, but things get a little too weird in some pages.
Anyway, it's really a good reading. I need to find out if there's a way to order the volume from my comics book store here in italy...
M
Marcello, thanks for the enthusiastic notes. Crits taken and accepted with appreciation; I think you are correct that the portion of my game that needs work on a constant basis is my anatomical consistency. I've worked hard on this book to tighten up my technique in that area, and while it's an improvement over my previous books, there is still work to be done.
I'm happy that, with those art critiques, you still feel the story wins out. The last part of the story awaits you in the book, and I hope you'll feel that I was able to keep the integrity of the characters and their stories true and on target. Thanks much for your support and willingness to take a chance on my book! Ciao!
I agree with Marcello about the anatomy. There were some panels where I ended up just *staring* because the anatomy was so weirdly off. I mean, not hugely horribly off, but more uncanny valley off.
But still, I'm *so excited* for this to come out so I can buy it and read the end. :D I love it!
A very big truck pulls up to Cafe Digital Studios tomorrow and dumps off a palette of these things, so yes, very soon, you too can have a copy of "BPM"!
Thanks very much for the nice words.
I just finished reading this and wanted to let you know that I've adored the story in these. Thank you so much for making them available for the web, it has been a joy to read, and I've send it to a bunch of my musically inclined and/or comic book geek friends.
You've definitely made a convert out of me--if you're keeping track add one more to the "read online and then bought the book" column!
Wow, thank you very much for the response. I'm very honored to have a growing list of "I read it online, now I'll buy the book" people, and I'll gladly add you to that list! And yes, please send all the "I love music/I love comics" people you can find, I want to meet them all!
